The
Homes and Communities Agency, formerly known as English Partnerships,
is the Government's national regeneration agency and freehold owner
of Greenwich Peninsula.
Since purchasing the 300 acre Greenwich Peninsula site in 1997,
HCA has invested over £217m in the regeneration
of the area. This includes investment in the remediation, servicing
and landscaping of the site, provision of transport links and access
improvements, construction of a new school and health centre and
the relocation of Greenwich Yacht Club.
HCA delivers high quality, sustainable growth in
England. This is achieved by developing a portfolio of strategic
projects and acting as the Government's specialist advisor on brownfield
land. It also ensures that surplus public sector assets are used
to support wider government objectives, especially those contained
in the Sustainable Communities Plan. HCA helps to
create communities where people can afford to live and want to live,
and supports the urban renaissance by improving the quality of our
towns and cities. |
